Overview
SORBS Block (also known as SORBS Recent) was a sub-list within the SORBS system designed to track recently active spam sources with a shorter evidence threshold than the main Spam list. IPs were added based on recent spam observations, making it a more reactive list intended to catch active campaigns quickly.
As a sub-list of SORBS, Block was typically queried as part of the combined SORBS aggregate zone rather than independently. SORBS shut down all services in 2024.
How It Works
SORBS Block used a lower evidence threshold and shorter observation window than the main Spam list, trading some precision for speed of detection. IPs that had recently triggered spam traps or been reported as active spam sources were listed here, sometimes before accumulating enough evidence for the main Spam list.
How to Get Delisted
SORBS has shut down and no removal process is available for any of its sub-lists, including Block. These listings have no current deliverability impact. Transition any filtering configurations referencing SORBS zones to actively maintained alternatives.
