NiX Spam

NiX Spam was a highly regarded anti-spam blacklist operated by manitu GmbH, a German hosting and internet service provider. It was particularly well-known and widely used in German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), where it complemented international lists with data specifically relevant to European spam patterns.

manitu built a strong reputation for careful list management — NiX Spam was known for short listing durations and fast auto-expiry, making it more forgiving than many competitors. The list has been discontinued after many years of reliable service.

NiX Spam was primarily trap-based, using spam trap mailboxes distributed across manitu's infrastructure and partner networks. Listings typically had short TTLs — often just a few hours — which meant the list reflected very recent spam activity rather than historical infractions. This real-time focus made it effective at tracking active campaigns.

NiX Spam has been discontinued and no longer accepts removal requests. Given its historically short listing durations, any listings would have long since expired.
