Overview
Team Cymru's Bogons list has nothing to do with spam. A bogon is an IP address range that IANA hasn't assigned to any RIR (Regional Internet Registry), plus RFC-defined private and reserved address space. Under normal circumstances, these addresses shouldn't appear in public internet routing.
Team Cymru is a US-based cybersecurity firm. They maintain this list to help network operators filter traffic from spoofed source addresses.
How It Works
Team Cymru analyzes global BGP routing tables to identify IP ranges that haven't been allocated or announced. The list changes as IANA assigns new address blocks β previously bogon ranges get removed once officially allocated.
How to Get Delisted
If your IP appears on the Bogons list, it means your address block may not be properly announced, or you're using spoofed source addresses. This can't be fixed by requesting removal β you need to ensure your IP was obtained through proper allocation channels and has correct BGP route announcements.
