DNSBL Blacklist Directory

DNS-based blacklists (DNSBL), also called RBLs, are used by mail servers to reject connections from known spam sources. This directory covers all the blacklists we track β€” active and discontinued β€” organized by operator.

FAQ

What is a DNSBL?

A DNSBL (DNS-based Blackhole List) is a list of IP addresses or domains published via DNS. Mail servers query these lists in real time during SMTP connections to decide whether to accept, flag, or reject incoming mail. Spamhaus ZEN and Barracuda are among the most widely used.

How do I check if my IP is blacklisted?

Enter your IP address or domain in the search box at the bottom of this page. Our blacklist checker queries all active DNSBLs simultaneously and shows which lists have a record for your address, along with links to each operator's removal process.

What is the difference between IP and domain blacklists?

IP blacklists (like Spamhaus ZEN) list the sending server's IP address. Domain blacklists (like Spamhaus DBL) list the domain found in message URLs or headers. A mail server can check both: the connecting IP against IP lists, and domains in the message body against domain lists.

What does "discontinued" mean?

A discontinued DNSBL no longer updates its data or responds to DNS queries. Listings in these lists have no effect on mail delivery. We keep them in the directory for reference, since they may still appear in older documentation or server configurations.

Check Your IP or Domain

Enter an IP address or domain to check all active blacklists at once.
